Brew your favorite tea in this beautifully hand crafted teapot made from clay found the Yixing Chinese province. The teapot features a tall, rectangular design with traditional Kanji symbols on one side and an abstract forest scene on the other that is reminiscent of Sumi-e painting. The smaller size of the teapot is traditional of the Chinese culture where it is common to drink many small portions of tea to avoid over-steeping. Tea can be brewed quickly and assures it will be served without bitterness. Yixing ware has the unique ability to absorb the tea flavor with continued usage. The fired clay contains tiny air pockets which provide insulation and enhanced taste and aroma of fine tea. It is even said that after many years of use, you can brew tea just by adding boiling water to the teapot. The different colors are achieved from pigments added into the clay before firing.
